Alpharetta-based Civitium and the Baller Herbst Law Group today announced the first audio podcast series dedicated to communities that are deploying broadband technology to enhance economic development, educational and occupational opportunity, digital equity, public safety and homeland security, environmental protection, government efficiency, cultural enrichment and quality of life.

Civitium, a management consulting firm, and the Baller Herbst Law Group, a national law firm, are both leaders in supporting community broadband initiatives, and are joining forces to co-produce a series of bi-weekly 30-minute audio podcasts. Available any time and at no cost on the Internet, listeners will hear an overview of recent community broadband developments, as well as interviews with leaders from both the public and private sectors.

"Communities large and small are working to make wireless and wired broadband accessible and affordable to all Americans," Jim Baller, Senior Principal of the Baller Herbst Law Group, announced. "We are proud to join Civitium in using innovative new tools to share practical, in-depth perspectives on community broadband."

The first podcast, scheduled for distribution on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, will feature an interview with Ms. Esme Vos, founder of Muniwireless.com and architect of the upcoming Muniwireless Conference, in Atlanta. Additional guests scheduled for future weeks will be announced soon. Listeners can subscribe immediately to the podcast at www.civitium.com/podcast.xml.

"Jim and I have a shared vision for the community-enhancing potential of ubiquitous and affordable broadband," said Greg Richardson, Civitium's founder and Managing Partner. "What better way to promote this vision and learn from others than to apply an empowering technology like podcasting."
