Lakeside Pharmacy Chosen to Unveil Ford Transit Connect in Georgia

Published Apr 17, 2008

Lakeside Pharmacy, a family-owned company in Cumming, was the only business in Georgia chosen by Ford Motor Company to introduce its all new Transit Connect, a compact van built especially for small business owners, to the Atlanta market.

Lakeside Pharmacy, owned by Dr. Apollon Constantinides, Jr., was selected because of its high visibility in the Cumming/Forsyth County area. Averaging 100 deliveries a day and operating a fleet of five delivery vehicles that are seen every day, all over town, Lakeside Pharmacy offered the perfect venue to present the Transit Connect just in time for the AJC Atlanta International Auto Show, April 19-27.

Ford Motor Company provided Lakeside a new Transit Connect that was vehicle-wrapped with the Lakeside Pharmacy logo. Ford affiliates were on hand at Lakeside Pharmacy on Monday morning filming promotional footage to be used at the Auto Show and on www.fordvehicles.com. The Lakeside Pharmacy Transit Connect will be at the Ford display at the Atlanta Auto Show this weekend.

“It’s great that Ford recognizes the needs of small business like mine in terms of value, efficiency and style,” said Dr. Constantinides. “We are happy to help them show how this new vehicle will help make the delivery process for small business owners easier and more affordable.”

Growing up, Dr. Constantinides spent a lot of time in his father’s pharmacy where he found his passion for helping others. When his father died in 1997, he began looking for a place to set up his own business.  By 1999, Dr. Constantinides had found his location in booming Forsyth County and opened Lakeside Pharmacy in 2001, adjacent to the new Northside Forsyth Hospital. The pharmacy’s name was chosen as a reference to their proximity to Lake Lanier, and Dr. Constantinides decided from the start that, like his father, he would offer free delivery to his patients.

Lakeside Pharmacy delivers prescriptions, medications and medical equipment all across the Forsyth County and neighboring counties, including Dawson. The volume of deliveries, as well as Lakeside’s delivery range, increased so significantly over the last seven years that Lakeside was prompted to grow its fleet of delivery vehicles from one to five.

Lakeside Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy offering quality patient care, prompt service, personalized medication counseling and no-hassle prescription transfers.  The company specializes in prescription compounding, hard to find medications, oncology medications, pain management medications and dermatological preparations.

Lakeside Pharmacy now serves the communities of Alpharetta, Buford, Canton, Cumming, Dawsonville, Gainesville, John's Creek, Sugar Hill and Suwanee, as well as all of Lake Lanier.
