Dawson County: People on the Move

Dawson County would like to extend a warm welcome and congratulations to the following employees to their new positions:

Elizabeth Ashworth
Elizabeth Ashworth

Elizabeth Ashworth has been selected to fill the position of Accounting Manager. Elizabeth has served Dawson County for over two years, most recently as Budget Analyst. Originally from Decatur, Georgia, Elizabeth is one of seven children. She currently resides in the War Hill Park community with her husband Carson and sons Garrett and Gavin.  As Accounting Manager, Elizabeth will be responsible for managing and supervising the daily accounting and financial functions of the Finance Department.

Christina Palacios
Christina Palacios

Before accepting the position as Budget Manager, Christina Palacios served as the Director of Police Administration for the Macon Police Department since 2005 where she managed a $22 million budget and over $3 million dollars in grant funding. Prior to that position she served as a graduate intern and Accreditation Manager for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office from 2000-2005.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Public Administration degree from North Georgia College and State University.  A native of Savannah, Georgia, she currently resides in Forsyth County with her husband Tony and their six children. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid college football fan.

John Barclay
John Barclay

Dawson County extends a warm welcome to John Barclay who comes on board as Network Manager. John comes to us most recently from the IT department at the City of College Park. The University of Georgia graduate will be responsible for maintaining all IT networks to ensure uptime and availability while working with the department to design infrastructure and maintain daily operations of the network.
