The new managing lease owner of Lake Lanier Islands Resort® will brief state and local leaders on initial development plans for Lake Lanier Islands on Friday, April 21, 2006, 8:30-10 a.m.

Virgil Williams will discuss preliminary plans at a Leadership Breakfast that will include leaders in state government, Hall County government, City of Gainesville, tourism and Chamber of Commerce officials. The event will be held at Emerald Pointe Resort on Friday, April 21, 2006, at 8:30 am.

Williams is expected to announce several concepts under consideration by land use planners, including a new four star hotel and other boutique hotels, a village center with fine dining accessible by boat and various types of vacation rentals.

Creative and advertising designs for marketing of Lake Lanier Islands for the summer of 2006 will also be unveiled, and a special announcement will be made by a leading Atlanta-based company, which will soon significantly increase its presence at Lake Lanier Islands.
